Education Programs

Overview
MorningSun's programs will be offered during four blocks each year. Courses within the blocks will vary in length from several days to several weeks and focus on specific topics within the overall program theme.

Fall block: SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM
Winter block: DEEPENING THE INNER LIFE PROGRAM
Spring block: VISITING STUDENTS YOUTH PROGRAM
Summer block: FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAM

Programs will be facilitated by a resident and visiting staff of professional educators including teachers, mindfulness instructors, caregivers, activists, organic growers, and sustainability designers and builders.

All courses will include:

  • An experience of intergenerational community practicing mindful and sustainable living;
  • Opportunities for practical experience on the demonstration ecological campus, organic farm, animal sanctuary and in the craft workshops;
  • A beautiful natural setting that nourishes an authentic and wonder-filled connection with nature;
  • Guidance and participation in a daily practice of mindfulness as a foundation for living and learning.

Central to the mission of MorningSun is to help those who are engaged in helping others. Thus many programs will offer a strong training in communication and relationship skills to benefit people like social, peace and ecological activists, business leaders, health-care providers, civil servants and government officials, educators, and parents. These trainings will strive to develop capacities of inner stability, clarity, ease, and joy that support participants to be effective and happy in their work and lives.
